This project was born from a collaboration with Wood & Stone and the idea of combining two natural yet contrasting materials: wood and stone. The inspiration came in 2018, when the Vaia storm struck the Trentino region, leaving behind vast amounts of unused fallen timber. From there came the desire to give new life to these resources: initially by using the fallen trees, and later by repurposing old building beams to transform them into sustainable design objects.

The lamp was designed to be simple to use and easy to maintain: it uses a standard E27 bulb, which is easily replaceable, and features a removable central plexiglass support that makes maintenance straightforward. The wooden parts were crafted using CNC machinery, with a custom mold designed to keep each piece stable during the milling process.

Alongside the lamp, I also designed a wooden container to accompany it: packaging conceived to be functional and consistent with the object itself, made of interlocking elements that require no glue or screws. The container also features a side window that reveals the lamp’s wood and stone elements, offering a preview of their natural colors and textures without opening it.

The result is an elegant and functional bedside lamp that emits a warm, cozy light: perfect for creating atmosphere while still being bright enough for comfortable reading.

The lamp is available for purchase on the official website:
